Beginning April 1, 2012, the sales tax rate for clothing and footwear selling for less than $110
per item is tax-free.
Sales tax on clothing and footwear selling for $110 or more per item remains at 8.875%.
The following chart may be used to determine the correct rate of tax:

New Jersey "SALES & USE" Tax rate is 7% . The rate is effective for all retail sales of taxable
merchandise or services as of July 15, 2006.
For NJ "URBAN ENTERPRISE ZONE" sellers who are authorized to charge the 50% reduced
rate, you are required to charge Sales Tax at a 3.5% rate on all qualified taxable sales as of
July 15, 2006.
